The Basilica unit of Mákos Guba Restaurant is a friendly and surprisingly characterful spot in Budapest's hospitality scene. The restaurant's creed is reimagining the flavors of the past, so classic Hungarian dishes – such as "Gypsy steak" or the namesake "mákos guba" (poppy seed bread pudding) – are served in modern, premium presentation. The experience is made complete by live music every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening from 6 PM.
The venue is also excellent for special events: their two function rooms, the Guba Salon and the Mák Room (equipped with a private bar and professional technology), provide an elegant and undisturbed venue for weddings, corporate dinners, or family occasions for 30 up to 200 people.
